I have been screenprinting in studio weekend until midnight feels good to eat dinner at 1am doesnt it, have a feeling im going to be awake for a while!its still raining my hair hadnt quite dried from the cycle into the studio today to then get soaked on the way home.

the one great thing about hanging out chez mes parents is that i come across treasure on a daily basis amongst the organised chaos of communal storage that exists around the house, this can be in the form of old photographs, mix tapes,old art projects, videos and books and general bric and brak.

this week its amazing books that i have failed to notice after living here for years

book one;

A day in the life of the soviet union,
I cannot emphasis enough how amazing the photographs are in this book!The whole book is made up of 250 spreads of photographs shot by 50 photojournalists all over the Soviet Union on May 15th 1987.

most amazing mountainious book, my grandparents live in the tatry mountains and would regularly send us books about them and I havnt paid much attention to them in the past but now can appreciate some of the incredible scenery captured here.

S.M.T.P.A

Following a conversation me and dan had about the claim that to offset your carbon foot-print you need to plant 2 trees per person per year. we decided to take it into our own hands....
So this is how me and dan spent our monday night- running around his backgarden trying to get our secret tree planting antics on camera unsuccessfully as we were not filming in night vision! and our great disguises seemed to work realy well, take after take after take of dan doing body rolls onto the compost heap! to my hysterical laughter and scatty torch lighting. :)

I love this animation by Michaela Pavlatova, I am currently in a coffee shop and have been in several today, its a good representation of all the different conversations and interactions gong on that happen in coffee shops, it also makes me nostalgic of student days spent drawing people in coffee shops, usually on trips to europe which always seemed to happen at the coldest time of year (cheapest time) which resulted in lots of drawings away from the cold!

moving pictures

you know when you think your taking a photo and you get clips of film on your digital camera i think i prefer the clips to what the photo would have been, they are like snap shots of memory- really quite magical , its nicer watching it without sound , without the oh its a video' voice over...
ha and whilst looking through these found this video of my sister and her boyfriend morgan at the top of kasprowy in the tatra mountains after morgan had already broken his wrist snowboarding :)
